The present volume brings together the presentations from the international symposium dedicated to the Sephardic community, organized in Bucharest and Craiova between October 7 and 8, 1998. The central theme of the symposium was the community of Sephardic Jews in southeastern Europe and the contribution of this minority in the modernization process.

Volumul de față reunește prezentările din cadrul simpozionului internațional dedicat comunității sefarde, organizat la București și Craiova între 7 și 8 octombrie 1998. Tema centrală a simpozionului a fost comunitatea evreilor sefarzi din sud-estul Europei și contribuția acestei minorități în procesul de modernizare.
